In 2018, Vivarium Studio is celebrating the ten-year anniversary of L’Effet de Serge and La Mélancolie des dragons, two plays elaborated as a diptych. In Serge’s apartment and in the magical snowy setting of La Mélancolie des dragons, Philippe Quesne addresses the issue of art through what seems to be of the utmost irrelevance: the amateur practices of mild-mannered dreamers creating worlds out of nothing. They offer a poetry of the ordinary, celebrating the simple inventiveness and the calm and powerful joy of a shared passion.
